The Museum has the leading collection of views of Neuchâtel, with over 20,000 photographs, 6,000 postcards, 1,000 prints and 200 drawings. The collection spans the period from the 16th century until today, but documentation for the period prior to the mid-18th century is sparse.

The collection focuses on the city of Neuchâtel, with general views of the inner city, groups of buildings, private properties and municipal construction together with panoramic vistas seen from the city and Chaumont. There are also views of places and regions on the lake shore and elsewhere in the canton.
