Indienne fabrics, lace and flags are the major themes of the Museum's textile collection.

Indienne production was one of the main industrial activities on Neuchâtel's lakeshore in the 18th and 19th centuries. The MahN holds a reference collection of these textiles comprising many printed fabrics and samples as well as documents and items related to the printing process.

Sample books, specimens of piqué work, pillows and various bobbins illustrate Neuchâtel lacework, which was mainly produced in the Neuchâtel Mountains during the same centuries.

The diverse exhibits in the flag collection provide a brief overview of Neuchâtel's history since the 15th century, with flags of various rulers, family standards, pennants of societies and guilds, and military flags.
