The Museum is an institution in the service of society. As well as conserving artefacts and works of art that bear witness to our past, it actively cultivates a relationship with Museum visitors.
It is imperative that the Museum is accessible, inclusive and in constant dialogue with communities of all kinds. One of its core missions is to deliver a multifaceted visitor experience that is as educational, thought-provoking and inspiring as it is entertaining and enjoyable. The Museum is a shared public space that lends itself to dialogue and cultural participation and strives to foster a stronger sense of community and belonging.
The Atelier des musées, which oversees the city's cultural outreach efforts, is committed to accomplishing this mission. To this end, it develops a wide range of activities at MAHN that appeal to a diverse public and encourage them to forge a meaningful connection with the institution. The Museum also partners with local actors with a view to making a full contribution to public life in the city.
