Families and children

Enjoy a great family day out at the Museum! As a space that embraces openness and nurtures curiosity, the Museum strives to be a welcoming and accessible destination for very young visitors, too.

The Museum has a range of resources for families and young visitors

  • Our free "Parcours découverte" [Mouvements] [Courbet, Monet, Renoir… Focus provenance] booklets for 6–12-year-olds are available at the Museum reception desk.
  • “Le musée sonore” is a French-language audio guide to our permanent exhibition. Designed specifically with young visitors in mind, it was created and recorded by Year 5 and 6 primary school pupils. Headphones are available free of charge at the Museum reception desk
  • Discovery, exploration and experimentation in our educator-led creative workshops
  • Art and culture explorer workshops for 0–4-year-olds and their parents
  • Tailored guided tours with the option of adding a creative workshop to complete the visit. Also available for birthdays and other events

We have a baby-changing area and Museum staff are always on hand to help you carry your pushchair, if necessary.

For all information and enquiries about our children's and family workshops, there's just one address: l'Atelier des musées!

Pay it forward – Museum workshop vouchers

You can also donate to the Museum's pay-it-forward scheme, which offers children from low-income families subsidised access to our creative workshops. Please contact us by email or phone if you would like to receive a pay-it-forward voucher.
